Transition Cooling Table. Canabas.

A superb Transitional style mahogany and mahogany veneer side table with an inset white marble top.
The tabletop is fitted with two silver-plated metal coolers. The apron opens with a drawer. It rests on four cabriole legs joined by two stretchers, terminating in casters.

A very fine piece, comparable to the work of Canabas (Joseph Gegenbach, known as Canabas, 1715-1797).
The Louvre Museum holds a similar pair in its collections, as does the Nissim de Camondo Museum (illustrated in "Musée Nissim de Camondo," 1973, no. 271, p. 65).

In very good condition.
Casters added later.
