Chelsea Allegorical “summer And Autumn” Candlesticks, C.1775–1783
A pair of late Chelsea candlesticks produced between c.1775 and 1783 and representing the allegories of Summer and Autumn. These compact models continue the longstanding Four Seasons tradition within the factory’s late Rococo phase, combining expressive putti with scrolling bases and light gilt accents. They reflect the manufactory’s closing independent years, when established themes were reinterpreted for changing decorative preferences.
