Pair Of Louis XV Candlesticks Rocaille Bronze Candlesticks From After. Nineteenth Century Steward

Artist: D'ap. Meissonnier
Pair of Louis XV candlesticks in silvered bronze entirely and finely chiseled, with rococo decoration of three cherubs or putti supporting the binet, twisted and leafy shaft decorated with stylized shells, on a large base with contours of acanthus leaf friezes, model of after the famous bronzier Meissonnier*, from the 19th century. These candlesticks are in good condition and are of exceptional quality. A similar pair is kept at the Wallace Collection in London. A note: tiny desilvering in places, wear of time, see photos. * Juste-Aurèle Meissonnier Goldsmith and French decorator (1695-1750). Master goldsmith in Paris in 1724, draftsman of the Chamber and the King's Cabinet in 1726, he became one of the leaders of rococo art, which his collections of ornaments helped to disseminate.
