"Large Chapel Candelabra In Gilded Wood, Brass And Cast Iron, Chandelier, 19th Century"
An imposing chapel candelabra, illuminating with 15 candles, dating from the Napoleon III period. The base of this light fixture consists of a cast iron tripod into the center of which the upper section is inserted. This upper section comprises a central shaft of turned wood in an antique gold finish, surmounted by an impressive arrangement of brass rods forming a tree-like silhouette. Each rod terminates in a corolla of painted sheet metal petals, forming a candle holder in its center. These flowers are all removable (see photo 12 - except for one which is fixed). This candelabra was once wired for electricity; consequently, all the flowers have been pierced, resulting in some minor damage, bends, fragility, and missing pieces (see photo 11). This imposing light fixture is extremely decorative, very stable thanks to its cast iron base, and adds a theatrical touch to the room in which it is placed.
