Louis XV Period Chair With Inclined Back, Provence, 18th Century
Very beautiful little chair with inclined back from the Louis XV period, Provençal work from the mid-18th century. In very richly molded and superbly animated fruit wood, our chair with very feminine looks and proportions has a carved back with flower decoration slightly inclined towards the back. The seat of our seat is very animated at the level of the front crossbar. Initially caned, (the cane fixing holes are still present and visible under the back when the chair is tilted forward (see photo 10) our chair is very well upholstered, the seat is very firm. It is covered with a magnificent and very refined fabric with a satin finish and a delicate floral decoration. Overall in superb condition, well patinated. We note a small lack and a restoration at the level of the floral decoration of the front crossbar (photo 8) as well as a tiny little trace on the fabric of the back (not visible on photo). Perfect in a bedroom as an occasional chair or in front of a dressing table.
