Large Regency / Louis XV Period Bench, High-backed Sofa, Four Seats, 18th Century

Very rare and imposing high-backed bench from the Regency period. Made in the first quarter of the 18th century. Of a rare length (2.60 m), this seat was designed to seat four people, which is very rare. Its high backs allow you to sit comfortably. The seat is good and still quite firm. Magnificent, animated base decorated with flowers. The front legs and the two rear legs located at the ends of the sofa end with shell work supported by small sabots in a magnificent state of preservation (only one of the front legs shows more significant wear at the level of its sculpture). The upholstery of this bench is in good general condition. The covering fabric is in a "bayadère" spirit, in shades of pink. It is in good condition, however some tiny wear and discreet halos are to be noted in particular on the back (see photos). This sofa has undergone usual restorations on its woodwork. The rear central leg was changed and usual restorations were carried out in order to consolidate the whole, thus preserving all its stability.
