Large Gothic Oratory, Prie Dieu, Carved Walnut, 19th Century
Majestic Gothic-style oratory in solid walnut.
Reconstructed in the mid-19th century from much earlier Gothic panels carved in orbevoie, this oratory opens on the front with a door revealing a niche for storing books and documents. The niche is topped by a flap locker. A second locker forms the lower section. It is upholstered in purple suede for kneeling.
The whole piece is in superb condition, with a beautiful patina.
Some carving details are obviously missing.
The door has its own key, the lock has been changed, it is old and works.
