Restoration Period Console Table In Flamed Mahogany, Lion's Paw Base, Circa 1820
Large Restoration period console in mahogany, circa 1820. On a solid oak frame, our console is covered with a very high quality flamed mahogany veneer, in very nuanced tones. Harmoniously animated, it is also carved with a decoration of palmettes overhanging very finely crafted lion paw feet. A discreet and elegant little relief work with a quadrilobed motif adorns the sides of the latter. The crotch shelf is very nicely fretted. This imposing console is very stable, it is topped with a beautiful veined gray marble. Very high quality set in very good condition. We note some discreet sunning and a small veneer graft on the back of the crotch shelf.
