Neapolitan Louis XV Console In Carved, Mecca-silvered And Lacquered Wood, Mid-18th Century

Elegant Neapolitan console from the mid-18th century, still rooted in the late Baroque tradition yet reflecting the emerging Louis XV taste. Entirely carved in wood, mecca-silvered and later lacquered, it features a rich decoration of scrolls, acanthus leaves, and floral motifs.
The top, painted in faux marble, is original and retains a beautiful aged patina. The light lacquer, likely the result of a restoration carried out about fifty years ago, enhances the brilliance of the mecca silvering and lends the piece an appealing chromatic harmony.
Overall condition is good: a few minor decorative losses and a small damage to the front edge of the faux marble top are visible in the photos.
A console of fine quality and elegant proportions, representative of the refined Neapolitan craftsmanship of the mid-18th century.
Dimensions: width 117 cm – depth 52 cm – height 91 cm
