Sideboard Made Of Solid Walnut, Northern Italy, 17th Century
Sideboard made of solid walnut, crafted in northern Italy during the 17th century, likely in the Lombardy region.
The piece features two doors with relief-carved panels, characterized by a geometric lozenge pattern, flanked by pilasters carved with plant motifs and stylized acanthus leaves. The upper section contains two drawers with molded fronts and ring handles.
The piece is completed by a rectangular top with a molded edge, projecting moldings, and onion-shaped legs.
It retains a warm, antique patina, with natural signs of aging and some restoration and replacement work carried out over the centuries.
Its relatively compact size and balanced proportions make it particularly versatile, suitable even for placement in contemporary settings.
