Venetian Charles X Mirror Giltwood Mercury Glass, Early 19th Century Circa 1820
Elegant Venetian mirror dating to the early 19th century, in the Charles X period (circa 1820–1830).The finely carved wooden frame is richly decorated with floral and foliate motifs, executed with remarkable craftsmanship and deep undercutting, giving the piece a sense of movement and lightness. The gilding is original, in gold leaf over an orange bole, with a warm and even patina. The mirror plate is original mercury glass of good quality and relatively thin. It shows two slight surface abrasions visible in reflected light, along with normal signs of age, without affecting the overall elegance. The structure is sound and well preserved, with traces of old, inactive woodworm. Original back.A highly decorative mirror with balanced proportions, typically Venetian, suitable for both classic and contemporary interiors.Dimensions:Width 124 cmHeight 121 cmFor further information, photos or technical details, please do not hesitate to contact us.Worldwide shipping available with professional packaging.
