Elegant oval mirror from Piedmont, crafted in finely carved limewood and gilded with gold leaf. Measuring 57 cm at its widest point by 48 cm in height, it stands out for its refined Louis XVI-style decoration.
The frame is adorned with floral and ribbon motifs, enriched by a delicate engraved rigatino on the inner friezes, adding depth and movement to the carved sections. The gilding, warm and luminous, enhances the richness of the sculptural details.
The mirror glass has been replaced, but the frame may originally have housed a small painting or decorative panel, as was sometimes customary in such pieces.
