General Béteille's silver sword. Consulate period. Silver hilt, single-branch guard with decorated facets. Pommel in the form of an urn decorated with foliage and Nemean lion heads. Finely checkered ebony grip with a decorated ferrule. Special hilt intended for one of the generals who accompanied Bonaparte to Egypt, as evidenced by the decoration of the hilt: "Aphrodite accompanied by Bonaparte and a palm tree." 76 cm long white blade with fullers and a central flat, engraved on its first third with a radiant sun and a geometric design. Black varnished leather scabbard with two silver mounts. Length of the weapon: 95 cm. Good condition, see photos. France. Consulate period.
