Officer's saber from the ports and arsenals, First Empire, 19th century. Fluted cast brass hilt with a lion's head pommel. The crossguard has inverted quillons ending in palmettes and half-quillons chased with a marine anchor and a partially illegible monogram. Leather blade strap present. Flat-backed blade with a gray patina, single edge and false edge. Strongly curved blade with a shaft over 15 cm long. Leather scabbard with two brass mounts and a button chape. Length: 81 cm.
