"Pair Of Vases With Kakiémon Decoration"
Crackle-glazed ceramic vases in a flattened, ribbed baluster shape with flared necks encircled by a decorative band. Both sides are decorated with trees enlivened by polychrome and gilt birds. They rest on ornate and gilt bronze bases in the Rococo style, adorned with centered shells. Louis XV style work from the Samson workshops, in the style of Chantilly porcelain. Height: 31.3 cm / Width: 18 cm (Samson factory mark and reproduction of the Chantilly factory mark / small, barely visible crack on one neck). Provenance: Château du Pinier (Charente-Maritime), in the music room. The Château du Pinier was built around 1784 by Henri, Chevalier de La Tour, who sold it by contract on September 9, 1806, to Charles Madey d'Escoublan, residing in Versailles. Various owners succeeded one another, each adding their personal touch during expansions and restoration projects. The current residents, Mr. and Mrs. Jean-Soulange Renard, have, for over twenty years, shaped the estate into the one we see today. Descendants of the Lorimier family, a prominent aristocratic family close to the court under the Ancien Régime, Mr. Renard has had the pleasure of placing various works of art, furniture, and objets d'art here, some belonging to his family and others acquired over time thanks to his passion for collecting and his experience.
