A beautifully carved Hetian jade cup from the late Qing to early Republic period (c.1880–1920), shaped as a blooming lotus surrounded by curling stems, fishes, and water birds. The stone is a pale celadon-white jade with soft translucency, finely worked in deep relief. The design reflects the traditional symbolism of purity, abundance, and renewal.
The carving displays exceptional craftsmanship, with natural fluid lines and high polish throughout. It is a substantial and finely balanced scholar’s object, meant to inspire contemplation.
