                    Original steel engraving with a burin. Engraved by Tassin (Christophe), often mistakenly confused with Nicolas Tassin, he was in fact the King's engineer-geographer. Although his dates of birth and death are unknown, his activity was mainly in the years 1630-1640. He is best known for his collections of small maps and plans of France, appreciated for their precision and elegance. Hand-watercolored.
