"Seals - Soft-paste Porcelain Satuette - 18th Century"
A rare and charming soft-paste porcelain statuette from Sceaux depicting a young woman in a pastoral scene. Standing on a rocky mound with a relief design, she holds a knotted ribbon in each hand. At her feet, a small donkey (or pony) raises its head affectionately towards her, creating a tender dialogue between the figure and the animal. Dimensions: Height 14.5 cm - Length 5.4 cm. Condition: Good condition - Repairs to one hand and one of the ribbons (invisible to the naked eye). Period: 18th century. Soft-paste porcelain statuettes from Sceaux are rare on the market. The factory is indeed more renowned for its earthenware production, particularly its earthenware statuettes and groups, which are far more numerous. The soft-paste porcelain production, more limited and fragile, has left only a small number of pieces preserved in good condition, which explains their relative rarity.
