"English Neo-gothic Clock At The Cathedral"
George VI period clock in gilt and patinated bronze. Taking up the architectural form of a church, called a Cathedral clock. It features the characteristic elements, pinnacles, brackets or pointed arches. Two figures on the front, on the left representing youth with a long-haired woman, on the right a bearded old man's head for middle age. Domed glass on the front, silver dial and blued steel hands. Roman numerals for the hours, railway for the minutes. Signed Button & Son - Wakefield. Typical English mechanism with weekly winding, fusee-chain system. No chime. Glass door at the back for access to the mechanism. This clock is revised, works. With key and pendulum.
