"Travel Clock With Chime - Gilt Case - Serviced "
A travel clock circa 1860 with a striking mechanism for the hours and half-hours on the hour and half-hour, and on demand via a bell. It also has an alarm function. The enamel dial features two subdials: the smaller one with Arabic numerals for setting the alarm, and the larger one with Roman numerals for the hours and a railway track for the minutes. It has steel Breguet hands, signed Patay Bté (patented) in Paris. The case is made of gilt bronze and decorated with discreet arabesques on the front. A large glass window in the upper section reveals the original, high-quality anchor escapement. The backplate is also signed by the clockmaker. The mechanism has been serviced (disassembled, adjusted for wear, cleaned, reassembled, oiled, and regulated). The case has been completely disassembled and cleaned. It comes with a key.
