Brass Officer's Clock, Circa 1850
An elegant traveling officer’s clock dating from the mid-19th century, circa 1850.
This pocket watch features a beautifully crafted brass case with vertical posts and glass panels on all four sides, allowing the mechanical movement and its exposed gears to be admired.
The light-colored dial is adorned with stylized black Arabic numerals and ornate hands. The upper section features a metal carrying handle and a glass panel through which the mechanism can be viewed. The back plate bears the inscription “FRANCE.”
The movement was serviced in 2005.
The clock exhibits a beautiful antique patina with signs of wear. Please note: there is a chip on one of the side glass panels, visible in the photographs.
A charming piece for lovers of antique timepieces and collectors of travel clocks.
