"Louis XVI Portico Clock "
A Louis XVI period portico clock signed Guydamour. Made of Carrara white and black marble, it forms a portico surmounted by a vase filled with flowers. Chains connect each element. In the center, above the dial, is an obelisk topped with a sphere. The enamel dial is signed Guydamour in Paris (Edme-Philibert Guydamour, received as a master in 1784). (The winding holes are damaged.) It features Arabic numerals for the hours and every 15 minutes, and gilt and chased brass hands. The round Paris movement strikes the hours and half-hours on a bell mounted on a hood. The suspension, with its blades, was modified in the 19th century. The marble is in good condition, but the gilding shows wear. The mechanism is functional but needs servicing (we can provide a quote for servicing at a preferential rate). It has a sunburst pendulum.
