Important Louis XV style gilt and patinated bronze "elephant" clock from the mid-19th century. Rococo base supporting the elephant on which is placed the clock contained in a bronze drum. A Chinese with an umbrella on the top part. Beautiful gilding. White enamel dial with Roman numerals for the hours, Arabic numerals every 5 minutes, completed by a railroad. Gilt brass hands, pierced and chiseled. Signed Lépine horloger du Roy in Paris. Round Paris movement with hour and half strike, weekly winding.
