Beautiful flared copper bucket, with two strong side handles, the body mounted with a hammer all in one piece, rests on a plinth in a band, two buttresses as well as the upper edge and the plinth are engraved with a scalloped decoration. The underside of the container, now deformed and patched, was hammered concave, forming a cap allowing women to carry the ferrat full of water, placed on a head cushion, or hip, halfway up. Capacity: 10 to 15 liters. Our ferrat is superb, very good quality, the engravings enrich its appearance. Provence or Languedoc, 18th century, beautiful folk art, the patina is just waiting to sing.
