Carved Wooden Bell, Nodding Head Monk, 18th Century Convent Work

Here is rare object, primitive statuette sculpted and naively polychromed wood, nodding head around axis, featuriing Franciscan hermit, bearded, praying and kneeling. mobile head is connected to an iron axis which animates a wooden bell with a discreet timbre.
Dimensions: 15cm x 12cm x 5.5cm.
Condition: excellent, small lack on left profile neck (at the location of the axis of the pivoting head), it is quite discreet. Everything is original, sincere, and very pretty to see in its naivety and untouched patina.
French work, naive art, probably 18th century, perhaps sold by a convent as a souvenir of a visit..........
