"Large 17th Century Four-wick Candlestick, Beautifully Turned"
Beautiful bronze torch, turned foot with threads and bowl, threaded base cup, turned shaft with strong central ring, truncated cone-shaped socket with 4 sides and grooves, which allowed to burn four wicks on same time, or possibly a square section candle. Good size: 13.5cm D x 19.5cm H. Weight: 750gr.
Superb bronze work, 17th or early 18th century;
The precise geographical origin is unknown to me.
Condition: quite good, but small crack on base, (see red arrows) a small dent on central onion.
