wonderful display of glassmaking skill, combining glass threading, free-blown
work and intricate pincered decoration to create this small masterpiece of
glass lacework: a winged vase measuring 15 cm x 13 cm, with a diameter of 6.5
cm. Lightweight piece: 250 g.
The work
of an anonymous 19th century artist. The structure of the base brings to mind
certain Norman cider pitchers... Yet, when properly displayed, it looks more
like one of those deep-sea jellyfish drifting through the ocean depths. A
superb object, modest in size but remarkable in quality.
