18th Century Artisan Candlestick, Rare Wrought Iron Leaflet Model
Artist: Ateliers Parisiens
Beautiful object: a wrought iron luminaire, swivel chandelier and workbench leaflet, called "St François" in use during 18th and 19th centuries in craftsmen's workshops. D'Allemagne french collection brought together some of them from the 17/18century (see last photo). They are now at the Secq Museum in Rouen. "Next to it are arranged these bench candlesticks with wrought iron console equipped with a folding rod".
This object, intended to receive a candle, stuck in wood of the workbench, was adjustable in 3 dimensions allowing the craftsman a good precision in his work.
Good condition, unpolished iron, the binet-bobèche seems replaced in the 19th century
Dimensions: Height: 55cm, closed: 16cm, open: 55cm Take a good look at our photos.....
