Portable reliquary in cast gilt bronze, in the shape of a Neo-Gothic church facade, decorated with pinnacles, bricks and a central niche housing a Virgin and Child in relief.
Description
In the upper part, a circular glazed cavity contains an ex indumentis relic mounted on a radiant red textile background, closed with silver thread and an ecclesiastical seal.
The handwritten label bears the inscription “B. Alpl. F.”, identifying a Blessed named Alphonse (probably Alphonse Rodriguez, Spanish Jesuit beatified in 1825, or Alphonse d'Orozco, Augustinian beatified in 1882).
Dimensions: height 13 cm
Condition:
Wear and oxidation to the bronze, slight green deposits, relic and name label well preserved. In accordance with canon law (can. 1190 §1), this sale concerns only the reliquary as an object of sacred art.
The relics it contains are not the object of the transaction, but are included free of charge for their historical and cultural value.
