Silver Reliquary - Saint Vincent de Paul - 18th / 19th century

Elegant oval-shaped embossed silver reliquary, adorned with rich floral decoration in high relief, including roses, tulips and finely chiseled foliage.

Description

In the upper part, a medallion depicts a bust in relief, likely that of Saint Vincent de Paul, to whom the relic is dedicated.The central cavity, highlighted by a silver filigree surround, presents a precious relic inserted under a domed crystal.
It is protected by two crossed golden wires in the shape of a cross, fixed by a red wax seal on the back of the reliquary, attesting to the authenticity and unopenedness of the reliquary.
A handwritten label clearly indicates the name of the saint: S. Vincent de P. (Saint Vincent de Paul).
The whole is presented in its original case, lined with velvet and red silk, with a brass clasp.

Condition: Excellent overall condition. Seal intact. Original box with some signs of use. Rare and authentic piece. In accordance

with canon law (can. 1190 §1), this sale concerns only the reliquary as an object of sacred art.
The relics it contains are not the object of the transaction, but are included free of charge for their historical and cultural value.
