Important reliquary under glass, presented in a blackened and gilded wooden frame.
Description
In the center, a finely modeled wax Agnus Dei (oval medallion), surrounded by a rich decoration of golden paperolles, metallic threads, blue silk, pearls and colored cabochons.
Around it are arranged eight authentic relics, each accompanied by its handwritten titulus in Latin:
• S. Stephani M. (Saint Stephen, protomartyr)
• S. Valentini M. (Saint Valentine, martyr)
• S. Annæ (Saint Anne, mother of the Virgin)
• S. Mariæ Magd. (Saint Mary Magdalene)• S. Iuliani M. (Saint Julian, martyr)
• S. Floriani M. (Saint Florian, martyr)
• S. Vesulæ VM (Saint Vesula, virgin and martyr, ancient local cult)
• S. Luciæ VM (Saint Lucy, virgin and martyr)
The whole is organized in a radiant composition, typical of the baroque conventual reliquaries of the 18th century, where the art of paperolles (golden paper and silk filigree) magnifies the presentation of the relics
