Superb oval Catholic reliquary, with a finely chased and filigree silver mount, in the late Baroque style. It houses a relic of Saint Felix of Cantalice, a 16th-century Capuchin friar canonized in 1712, renowned for his piety and miracles
Description
The relic is carefully preserved behind glass, on a red textile background edged with gold thread. A handwritten label authenticates the relic with the visible inscription: “S. Felicis Capuc.” (Sancti Felicis Capucini).
The reverse is decorated with embossed paper adorned with a gilt floral motif, typical of reliquaries of this period.
