Impressive architectural ornament in finely carved solid wood, depicting a mythological creature of the dragon or sea griffin type, set in a leafy decoration. This bas-relief is typical of the Neo-Gothic style of the late 19th century, with a high level of detail and remarkable craftsmanship.

Description

The woodwork is particularly expressive: the dragon curls into a dynamic posture between acanthus leaves and architectural volutes. The base and the capital with multiple moldings give the whole a great stability and a strong sculptural presence.
