Brussels Faience Jug With Lambrequins And “haie Fleurie”, C.1760–1790
A substantial Brussels tin-glazed faience jug painted in grand-feu colours with the classic “haie fleurie” garden and scattered flowers, lambrequins around the neck, and a moulded mask spout. The handle bears red scrolls; floral bands encircle the foot. Inside the foot well an underglaze cobalt “R” (workman/decorator mark associated with Brussels production).
Condition: honest rim chips with old filler/toning; small glaze loss near the handle; expected fritting and firing specks; no cracks or structural restoration observed.
Measurements: height 28.5 cm; max body Ø 15.5 cm; width across handle 17 cm. Weight 1.272 kg.
