Object description :

"Rare Antique Minton Pair Of Figural Candlesticks, C.1820s"
Elegant early Minton pair in pure white glaze. Each candlestick: tree-form stem with ring handle, scalloped drip-pan and small candle cup; seated putto to a rococo base with applied blossoms. The faces read unmistakably early Minton. Bases carry a crossed-swords-type painted blue mark recorded on rare Minton wares of the 1820s; simple impressed workman’s letters also noted.                                                                                                                                                    Minton’s tiles famously decorate the Palace of Westminster, underscoring the firm’s top-tier Victorian reputation. Rare and antique Regency-period pair with sharp modelling and near-complete floral work-an excellent addition to focused Minton and early English porcelain collections. Condition: very good antique condition; only tiny nicks to a few leaves/petals on close inspection; both candle cups sound. Dimensions: height 19.8 cm; base 9 × 8 cm; combined weight 751 g. Please study the accompanying photographs carefully as they form an integral part of this description. If you have any questions, we will be happy to answer them. The item will be shipped with full tracking and insurance.
