A rare and impressive Helena Wolfsohn Dresdenporcelain vase with cover, dating to around 1880. The large vase is decoratedwith hand-painted Watteau-style scenes of elegant courting figures, framed inrich raised gilding, and set against a turquoise ground with floral sprays,demonstrating the refined Dresden taste of the late 19th century.                                                        
The reverse bears the underglaze blue mark used by Helena Wolfsohn inthe late 19th century. The gallant and romantic characters and decorativefloral panels are recognizable from Helena Wolfsohn. The Helena Wolfsohnfactory existed for a short time (1879–1883), so the products of thismanufactory are rare. At the factory near Dresden the porcelain itself was not produced,all blanks were supplied directly from different, most famous manufactories.The Helena Wolfsohn manufactory was one of the best continuers and preserversof the tradition of fine German porcelain.Condition: Excellent antique condition.
