Superb large Loetz Chiné Camillia Rot vase, 38 cm, made in 1897. This pattern is usually in Crete or Candie ground, and more rarely in Camillia Rot ground. It is sometimes spread with a metallic purple or mountain blue. Fine colorless threads form an irregular net pattern. Matte iridescence (Loetz website). Matte iridescent clear glass bottom, overlaid with soft pink/red and transparent dreadlocks. On each side, the characteristic twisted tadpoles. Pontil underneath. Height: 38 cm x 13.5 cm diameter (= 38 cm high x 13.5 cm diameter). Used item, but in very good condition. No cracks or scratches.
