Louis XV Period Marchand Transforming Game Or Living Room Table

Elegant Louis XV period Rosewood and Amaranth marquetry Salon game table, stamped MARCHAND (for Louis-Nicolas Marchand, received Master in 1735).

A top inlaid with leafy branches standing out against a background of Rosewood in butterfly wings opens with two flaps onto another top covered in "raspberry" leather, just like the reverse of the 2 flaps.
The whole develops a large surface allowing the game.
4 removable pulls in the belt of the table ensure good stability.
The central top is easily released thanks to a pivoting handle and reveals on the other side a marquetry chess game. Once this top is removed, a game of Tric-trac appears, covered in the same "raspberry" and black leather.

The elegance of this table, which is found by a scalloped belt on all sides, its 4 legs with a pretty curve whose edge is underlined of end grain wood and ending with gilded bronze clogs, makes it a refined living room piece of furniture, of rare dimensions.
