"19th Century Italian Painting, Camposanto Di Pisa, Pisa, Tuscany, Pisan Pantheon, Renaissance"
"Campo Santo di Pisa". Watercolor and gouache. 14 x 20 cm visible, in a 24.7 x 32 cm frame. Title in white gouache under the drawing, in a reserve of the marie-louise. Slight white traces. Foxing on the marie-louise. Charming 19th-century Italian painting depicting the cloister of the Camposanto monumentale in Pisa (Tuscany). The Camposanto is a cloistered cemetery, a sort of "Pisan pantheon," located near Pisa Cathedral, its baptistery, and the famous tower. It was built between the 13th and 15th centuries and is famous in particular for its Renaissance frescoes, which can be seen here on the left of the drawing. Ref. EB-1330
