Handwritten note in pencil under the drawing, on the support: "Interior of a house on rue de la Juiverie in Lyon, 14 7bre 1837, Alex.de Flacheron". View of the courtyard of the house with its stairs, arcades and passageways, before the work of the 1860s and the destruction of the west facade which made the courtyard visible from montée Saint-Barthélémy. In the foreground, on the left, a woman is drawing water from the well. Rue Juiverie is located in Vieux Lyon, between Place Saint-Paul and Rue de la Loge. Francis I is said to have lived in this house, located at 4, rue Juiverie, which is also called the Maison Henri IV because of a bust of the king later installed in a niche overlooking the Montée Saint-Barthélémy.
