Rosalie Christen, 1809–1880, Swiss painter and watercolorist specializing in flowers, born in Aarau. She lived in Bern, where she began exhibiting as early as 1836. Artist listed in the Bénézit. Listed on Artprice, Artnet, etc...
The paper is in very good condition.
The watercolor, which has never been cleaned and is not soiled, is in very good original condition. No stains.
Set in a more recent glass-fronted frame in very good condition, into which the original 1860 mat has been reinserted.
