Jean Pierre Dequène, 1905-1954, Belgian painter portraits, figures, nudes and still lifes. He studied with Emile Motte, Alfred Duriau and Charles Caty at the Mons Academy from the age of 16. He went on to perfect his skills in Marcel Gillis' studio. A member of the Groupe Les Loups, he embraced the changes of the time and was strongly influenced by Expressionism and Cubism, his mural compositions and nudes being imbued with mannerism. He exhibited in Paris at the Salon d'Automne and the Salon des Indépendants. Mural decoration at the Université du Travail in Charleroi. Works in the Museums of Brussels, Mons and Tournai. Artist listed at Bénézit, Arto and Piron. Coté Artprice, Artnet...
