Original 1948 Poster - Socovel 200 Cm³ -

Original advertising poster published by the Socovel motorcycle brand in 1948.

The sheet measures 85 cm x 62 cm.
Depicting a Socovel 200 cm³ motorcycle, production of which began in 1946.

Note that the space reserved for the dealer’s imprint in the lower right corner remains blank, as this poster was never distributed.

The brand was founded in 1941 in Brussels by brothers Maurice and Albert de Limelette, and due to the gasoline shortage during the Occupation, Socovel designed one of the very first mass-produced electric motorcycles. Its name stands for “Society for the Study and Construction of Electric Vehicles.” 1946: Back to gasoline. With the end of the war, production of electric models ceased. Socovel shifted its focus to more conventional lightweight motorcycles equipped with Villiers, Jawa, and later Maico two-stroke internal combustion engines. Production of the 200 cm³ model shown on our poster began in 1946 and, along with other models, continued until the company closed in 1959.

This sheet of paper is in very good condition.
The lithograph is in very good condition, and the colors are very vivid.
It is in excellent original condition, close to new.
It comes in a white PVC frame with a glass insert (shipped without the glass), which, given its size, will never arrive intact, or rolled up in a tube if you do not want the frame (see the two different shipping rates below).
