Royal Worcester Porcelain Figure, Seated Maiden With Dove, 1880

An elegant Royal Worcester figure, dated 1880 (impressed R), modelled as a seated classical maiden in a flowing brown robe with scattered gilt decoration. A golden dove rests on her shoulder, and she holds a delicate flower with an amber-coloured centre.                                          
The piece is a superb example of Worcester's figural output in the late Victorian era, notable for its refined detailing and elegant composition. Gilding is vivid and especially well preserved on the dove — a feature frequently damaged in similar models.
