Rare Bow Porcelain Figurine of an Boy Drummer, c. 1744

An elegant and finely crafted antique porcelain figurine of a young drummer, exquisitely painted in soft pastel hues of pink, grey, and blue. The delicate colouring enhances the intricate detailing of the musician's ornate robes, demonstrating the high level of craftsmanship in early English porcelain.

This piece is marked with the gold anchor, a mark often associated with the prestigious Bow porcelain manufactory, which was a key rival to the Chelsea porcelain factory in the early development of both soft and hard paste porcelain in Britain. The base is also characteristic of Bow porcelain, further supporting the attribution.
