Sewing box in straw marquetry - 19th century period Very fine decoration: a gallant country scene under a tree near a town. Friezes and foliage complete the decoration of the lid. The sides are simply decorated with a frieze made by the juxtaposition of bands of different colors. Box equipped with an interior mirror (in poor condition) and multi-compartment. Contains 2 covered side boxes decorated with tulips and 2 open compartments The straw is in very good condition, no missing parts. The basic structure is in fir. The back of the bottom is lined with old paper. High quality object and rare in such a good state of conservation.
