Holy Water Font in Islettes Faience" Holy water font in polychrome high-fired faience from Islettes. Period late 18th - early 19th century. Characteristic shape with a painted backsplash with a peripheral border, painted cross, large, wide, semi-spherical basin without a gadrooned nipple. Its originality lies in the absence of Christ. The religious character is represented solely by the cross. Cup painted in 3 colors. See photo of the reference book (image top right). This object is part of the iconographic images in this book, the former owner was partly the editor. Polychromy in perfect condition. No enamel chips (small lack of enamel during manufacture at the end of the cross). No cracks, no repairs.
