"18th Century Brass Foot Warmer"
18th century brass hand warmer. Round in shape with a fixed, worked carrying handle. This handle is riveted to the copper. The domed lid is openwork and finely decorated. Covered by protective hoops to prevent contact with fabrics. Could be used to warm bedding or more generally ladies' petticoats. The reservoir is decorated with several friezes, as is the base. The foot is completely embossed, again with a peripheral frieze (shells?). Good general condition, however the base of the foot has some deformations, dents and cuts. Object having been used!
