"18th Century Iron"
Iron late 18th century. Post Revolutionary period (1789-/1799). The manufacture could be later. Ember iron called boat by its shape. The ventilation is bilateral, ensured by a frieze of Phrygian caps allowing to ensure the dating. The whole is in wrought iron, the turned wooden handle is original. The latch is worked in spiral to bring a touch of fantasy. The closure is ensured by a spring hook. Classically the closure was made with a rotating hook + ring. It is in a good condition. The whole has been the subject of a rust removal which gives it a beautiful presentation. See photos of details.
