Toy bookbinding press from Paradis des Enfants, Rue de Rivoli - Late 19th, Early 20th Century. Very rare toy from Paradis des Enfants, rue de Rivoli in Paris (see photo in the background). This shop, opened in the mid-19th century, specialized in luxury toys for the Parisian aristocracy. It sold trains, steam engines, etc. This 6-level bookbinding press is made of cast iron and steel and is in perfect condition. No breakage, no restoration (only cleaned, no trace of oxidation). The toy is functional, with a visual indicator of the raising and lowering action (see photos). The cast iron base is molded, as are the top platen, the hoop, and the handle. A very decorative object that would be perfect for a cabinet of curiosities. Width 14 cm x 15.5 cm, height with screw at the bottom 21.5 cm, height with screw raised 24.5 cm, weight 2.5 kg.
